It has extremley low  power consumption: allows nearly 6800 page turns from a single battery charge.The Reader can be fully charged in only 4 hours from a laptop or PC via supplied USB cableor 2 hours charge time using optional UK/continental mains adaptor (ACS-5220E).It uses the EPUB standard: the most widely used eBook type. Can also read other common text documents and can also display most common image and photo file types.NB images are black and white, not colour.You can even use it with headphones to listen to music while you read (MP3 or AAC files).Supplied pre-loaded with sample eBooks and excerpts, plus (while stocks last) a disc containing 100 FREE complete and unabridged classic favourites.All necessary software (eBook Library) plus quick start instructions supplied.
