The NEW Sony eReader Touch Edition (PRS-600) is the next generation of this fantastic gadget. This version now has a bigger display but still employs the sophisticated eInk technology this makes the screen look like your reading off normal paper. This version now uses a touch screen which makes it operate very much like the iPhone. Move your finger left or right across the screen to move forward or back a page. Swipe and hold to move through several pages quickly.It also now carries a dictionary you just double-tap on a word to look it up double-tap the page to create (or remove) a bookmark. The 532MHz processor ensures that Page turns are quick.It also now comes with two applications: text notes and handwriting. Text notes is very like notepad in Window and you canl use the on-screen keyboard ( just like most touch screen phones) to type your notes or to do list. This is stored as actual text. Handwriting is stored as a graphic and you can draw and write using the stylus . Both text and handwriting notes are stored "Notepad" in the desktop software. You can choose one of 5 text sizes to make reading as easy as possible on your eyes. Write notes or highlight text in your books and store them for reference. Search for specific words or passages within your books for quick navigation. Built-in dictionary in case you're unsure of the meaning of a word (Oxford British and American English) You'll be able to carry as many as 350 books on the internal memory and read as much as 6,800 pages between charges.
